365 Card Challenge - Day 183 - August 30, 2009

Here is today's sketch for Super Sketchy Sunday:
For the card I made, I used paper from a DCWV stack, I embossed candles on the pink paper using the Cuttlebug, then cut a scallop circle using the Cricut Mini Monograms cartridge, I stamped the cupcake using the CTMH Cupcake Sprinkles stamp set in chocolate and blush inks, and the white ribbon is from my stash. Thanks for taking time to take a look at my card.

365 Card Challenge - Day 182 - Sporty Saturday

The specifics: Use a ball on your card - baseball, soccer, basketball, tennis, golf, or volleyball.Don't have a stamp, sticker, or patterned paper to use? You can always make one ;)

I made this card using paper from a baseball scrapbook kit that I got at Big Lots, I then used the computer to print the words "Play Ball" and put a baseball sticker from The Paper Studio in the upper right corner of the picture. I printed a picture from a high school baseball game to put on the front of this card. A very different card for me. Thanks for taking a look.

365 Card Challenge - Day 181 - White Space

Okay, enough of the EASY challenges! Back to a white space challenge. Keep all decorations (paper, embellies, sentiments) within the blacked out areas of the card.

Here is my take on this card. I used the DCWV Whimsy Stack (I really like the little birds on this paper - they have glitter on them) and used the Martha Stewart border punch (I love this border). The ribbon (bow) is from my stash and I stamped Happy Birthday using the CTMH "For Every Occasion" stamp.

365 Card Challenge - Day 180 - Going Vintage

Going Vintage -- Which is so NOT my thing, and yet I love cards that feature vintage images. I figured, if it's a challenge for me, maybe it's a challenge for some of you. And for those of you who often create this style of card, then please inspire those of us who do not. Specifically, I want to see a vintage image on your card.

This was certainly a challenge for me. I found an old picture of my mother when she was a baby and placed it on a piece of card stock from the DCWV the Luxury Stack, I found some ribbon in my stash and put it around the picture and cut the word "Memories" using the Home Decor Cricut Cartridge. Maybe I will use this card for my mother's 85th birthday next month.

365 Card Challenge - Day 179 - August 26, 2009

365 Card Challenge - Day 179 - Checkerboard Background
Use paper with a checkerboard background or create a checkerboard yourself. How you embellish the card beyond that is up to you.

Here is the card I made using paper and ribbon from my stash. I cut the word Hope from the Home Decor Cricut Cartridge. I hope this card will inspire all women are going through breast cancer either in the past or currently.

365 Card Challenge and 2 Sketches 4 You

Once again, I am able to use one card for two challenges:

365 Card Challenge - Day 178 - Back to School
So it seems appropriate to have a card with a Back to School theme - that's it, anything goes as long as it's inspired by the theme.

and

2 Sketches 4 You - Laura's Sketch 33

Here is the card that I made. The paper is using the DCWV - The Grade School Stack. I cut a the book worm and apple off a page from this stack and used another page with a variety of words on it. I then cut a piece of red rick rack and two red buttons from my stash to underline the word learning. A very different card for me, but thanks for taking a look.

365 Card Challenge and CPS CardSketches 130

I was able to use one card for two challenges:

365 Card Challenge - Day 177 - Monogram Monday:
I've seen this done many times before, and felt that with its popularity, it should be included among the 365 challenges. So all you have to do is include a monogram of some sort on your card.

and

CPS 130 Week of August 23

Here is the card that I made using paper from my stash. I then cut the monogram using the Storybook Cricut Cartridge. Thanks for stopping by to take a look at this card.

365 Card Challenge - day 176 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Super Sketchy Sunday - Here is the sketch.

Here is the card that I made for Super Sketchy Sunday -- I used paper, ribbon and a button from my stash. The sentiment is a Martha Stewart rub-on. This should make a nice birthday card for one of my sisters.

365 Card Challenge - Day 172 - ABC - 123 and 2 Sketches 4 You

365 Card Challenge - Day 172 - August 19, 2009
The details: Create a card with alphabet stickers and include at least one number. Don't have alpha stickers? If you have a stamp set with individual letters and numbers, that qualifies as well

and

2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan's Sketch 33 - august 17, 2009
Here is the card I made for my sister. I hope she likes the pink and white papers. I knew she would be very mad at me if I put a number on this card - so I left it off. Thanks for taking a look at this card.

365 Card Challenge - Day 175 - Stampin' Saturday

The challenge for today is all about layering stamps. Now, I'm not talking about masking, but actually overlapping stamps to create a really neat effect. Probably the best way to do this is to create a background, but it's not necessary.

The paper and buttons are from my stash. I once again used a CTMH stamp - Simple Beauty - and various colors of CTMH ink pads.

365 Card Challenge - day 173 - Mixed Message

This one is all about combining methods to create a sentiment. Incorporate THREE ways to create a sentiment to make one big sentiment. Mix and match things like stamped, alpha stickers, handwritten, computer-generated, transfers, etc.

Here is my card for today's challenge. I used paper, rick rack and ribbon from my stash. The "I" is an alphabet button, the heart is from a Colorbok card kit, and I used the Critut to cut the "U" using the George and Basic Shapes Cartridge .

365 Card Challenge - Day 174 - Just Peachy - August 20, 2009

And that's the challenge: The dominant color on your card should be peach.

I used CTMH items for this challenge - the stamp is Cupcake Sprinkles stamped using the a chocolate and sorbet stamp pads. Thanks for stopping by today.

365 card challenge - day 170 - Double Duty - August 17, 2009

Today's challenge is called Double Duty because I want you to make a card that doubles as something else.... examples would be a bookmark, a place card, or some sort of pocket card. HOWEVER - NO GIFT CARD HOLDERS OR MONEY HOLDERS!

I had to think an extra day on this one. I could only think of a bookmark, but I really didn't want to make a bookmark. Then I thought about when our daughter lost a tooth, my mother had made her a pillow with a pocket on it to put her tooth in for the tooth fairy. Okay, I'll make a card with a pocket for the tooth. The paper is from my stash. I found pictures of a tooth and a tooth fairy on clip art. I made a pocket on the Cricut using the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge. Thanks for looking today.

365 Card Challenge - Day 171 - Tuesday's Trio - August 18, 2009

It's been a while since we've had a Trio challenge, so let's do one: Triangle-Sticker-Button, you must incorporate these three things in your card.

I used items from my stash for this challenge. The card base is white card stock, the triangle is an olive green card stock, the star is a foam sticker, Merry Christmas is a sticker, and the buttons are all from my stash. I stamped the tree on white card stock using the CTMH October stamp of the month (available 10/1/09 from a CTMH consultant). Because my daughter is a CTMH consultant she is able to purchase the stamp of the month in advance and she lets me use her supplies. One Christmas card down, many to go. Thanks for looking at my card today.

365 Card Challenge - Super Sketchy Sunday - Day 169 - August 16, 2009

Super Sketchy Sunday

Here is the card that I made for Super Sketchy Sunday - Day 169

365 Card Challenge - day 163 - Try a Technique: Masking - August 10, 2009

Today I challenge you to try a technique - Masking.

I finally got this card completed. It took me awhile to decide how I wanted to do masking on a card. I decided to use a teal card base since it matched the flowers. The first strip of card stock is brown and I used the Fiskars border punch on both sides and added a teal bow from my stash on it. I used the CTMH Spring Tickled Pink stamp set on beige card stock. CTMH Heavenly Blue ink for the flower petals and CTMH Chocolate ink for the middle of the flowers . I started at the top of the card and then masked the flowers as I stamped down the card. Not too bad for the first time doing this. Thanks for this challenge and I hope you like this card.

CPS128 Part 3

CPS128 - Part 3 card sketch
Here is the card that I made for CPS 128 - Part 3.
All the items are from my stash (off white card base, brown and beige card stock, brads, and flowers). I ran the brown card stock through the Cuttlebug and then inked the top with cosmic copper Brillance ink pad. I used a Studio G with the same ink pad. Thanks for looking today.

365 Card Challenge - Day 168 - Touch of Toile - August 15, 2009

So that's the challenge: use toile as the background pattern.

Of course, this was a hard card to make today. I didn't have anything that really looks like toile. After looking through paper that I had on hand, I used the DCWV Luxury Stack, I used a Fiskars punch on the metallic stack, the ribbon is Martha Stewart.

365 card challenge - day 167 - "Gift" Card - August 14, 2009

Today's challenge is all about turning your card into a gift; that is, you will make it look like a beautifully wrapped present
Here is the "gift card" that I made today. The paper is from a DCWV stack and the ribbon is spool from JoAnn's for $1. I made the tag using the CTMH June stamp of the month.

365 Card Challenge - Day 166 - Card Recipe - August 13, 2009

The challenge: Complete your card using only the ingredients below. Notice that this challenge DOES require you to include glitter: Ingredients -4x7 card; 5 blossoms; glitter; wet embossed sentiment; 3 different patterned papers.

My card uses pink card stock, then I used 2 different papers from the Making Memories Garden Party stack, the paper in the middle of the card is from DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Girl stack, there is glitter on the paper in the middle, I used CTMH liquid glass on the sentiment, the brads are from my stash, the 5 blossoms are American Crafts.

Thanks for looking today.

Make a Wish Upon A Star

Two Card Challenges --

365 Card Challenge - day 165 - August 10, 2009 is about another shape - a STAR - make that the dominant shape on your card. That means that you don't have to create a star-shaped card, but the star shape should really stand out on your card, whether it's that pattern in the paper, or a giant shape on your card.
and

2 Sketches 4 You - Laura's Sketch #32

I used a light blue paper with stars on it from my stash. I cut the star using the Christmas Cheer Cricut cartridge and went around the edge of the star with CTMH liquid glass and placed it on white card stock. I stamped the"Make a wish" using the CTMH September Stamp of the Month (available 9/1/09). Thanks for looking, and Make a Wish ...... Upon a Star

365 Card Challenge - Day 164 - Color Scheme - August 11, 2009

After taking a look at some of the colors in the kit I got to play with from Art Glitter, I thought I'd use some of the colors as inspiration for today's challenge. It's a color scheme challenge. Use the following color scheme on your card:

For my card I used a 6 x 6 white card stock base. I used the CTMH Simple Beauty stamp using CTMH petal ink for the verse in the middle of the card, the flowers are stamped using CTMH crystal blue, cranberry, sunflower and creme brulee. I placed a button from my stash in the middle of each flower and punched a purple heart. A different challenge that turned out nicer than planned.

365 Card Challenge - Day 162 - Super Sketchy Sunday - August 9, 2009

Here is my card for the Super Sketchy Sunday. The paper and buttons are from my stash, the ribbon is American Crafts Elements that I got at Big Lots, and the sentiment is a Joann Craft Essentials chipboard accent. Thanks for taking time to look at my card.

Butterfly Card - August 8, 2009

Here is a first for me -- One card, two challenges --

365 Card Challenge - Day 161 - August 8, 2009 - Cool Collage:
Today's challenge is all about overloading that card with patterned paper and embellishments. The goal: Don't leave a blank space on your card.

and

2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan's Sketch #32
I used a white card base and even though it is hard to see, the back layer is a light blue paper with swirls, the next layer is a solid light blue, the next paper is blue with dots, and the light blue paper on top is stamped with a butterfly using the CTMH Simply Beauty stamp set. The ribbon is from my stash. Thanks for taking a look at today's card.

365 Card Challenge - Day 160 - August 7, 2009 - Lovely Lace

Ever used lace on your cards? Well, now's the time to give it a try because today's challenge is to add lace to your card - any amount will do!I found that I have very little lace in my ribbon bin. I have used items from my stash. I like this paper because of the florish on the paper. I added a blue flower and lace and will stamp the circle with the sentiment when I'm ready to use the card. Thanks for taking a look at the cards I make.

365 Card Challenge - Day 159 - August 6, 2009 - Setting the Scene - Indoors

Today I challenge you to create a scene on your card. In March, I posted a similar challenge, which was to create a nature scene. This time I'm looking for something indoors. Use stamps, stickers, fussy cutting, whatever you wish as long as it creates a scene. Here is my indoor scene - I used paper from my stash. The brown paper on the bottom of the card looks like a wooden floor, even though you can't really see that in the picture. I used the Hello Kitty cricut cartridge and I used a studio G stamp for "Get Well Soon". Hope you like this card and thanks for stopping by.

365 Card Challenge - Day 158 - August 5, 2009 - What's Your Sign

Today's challenge is not referring to an astrological sign, but rather about creating a sign on your card. You can use a stamp, patterned paper, or create a sign out of the card.

I used green card stock from my stash for the card base and ran it through the cuttlebug using the new herringbone folder. The owl and phrase on the sign are using the CTMH You're a Hoot stamp set.

365 Challenge - Day 157 - August 4, 2009 - Imagine This Sunflowers

Today's challenge is all about sunflowers. It's not necessary that you have a sunflower on your card, as long as it is inspired by a sunflower.

I once again used papers and ribbon from my stash. The sunflowers are cut using the Stretch your Imagaination Cricut cartridge I then put dots of CTMH liquid glass on the middle of the sunflowers. I used a Fiskers punch along the brown edge. Thanks for taking a look at this card.

365 Card Challenge - Day 156 - August 3, 2009 - Ad Inspired

Today's challenge is an ad inspired from Gloria. Here is the ad she chose:I had a difficult time with this challenge. I changed my mind many times and finally settled on this one. It's not really what I would like it to be, but it will have to do. All the papers, flowers and brads are from my stash. The brown paper actually looks like burlap, but you can't tell from the picture. Thanks for taking a look at my attempt at this challenge.

365 card challenge - day 155 - August 2, 2009

Sunday - August 2, 2009 Super Sketchy Sunday

Here is this week's sketch
I used paper from an old DCWV stack that I had and thought about making a fall card. I cut out the leaf using the cuttlebug and inked it. Used brads in the corners from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by.

365 Card Challenge - Day 154 - August 1, 2009 - Plains, Trains, and Automobiles

Today's challenge is all about modes of transportation. Anything goes as long as you include a plane, train, or automobile (and I think technically a bicycle is a mode of transportation, so it should count) on your card.
I used the Nana's Nursery Baby Girl paper stack. I inked the train using CTMH ink and used a CTMH marker around the wheels. The train and the words "Welcome" "Little One" are cut using the Cricut New Arrival Cartridge. The ribbon is from my stash and the little hearts in the train car are using a paper punch that I have. I hope you like this card. I think it turned out pretty.
sorry that the lighting is weird in this view

365 card challenge - Day 153 - July 31, 2009 - Tag, You're It

I see these cute little journaling tags everywhere, even on cards, so I thought it would be fun to present this challenge to you. You can use an actual tag or you can use a sticker, rub-on or stamp that is meant to be used as a journaling tag.

Here is a card I made using items from my stash: cream color card base, papers, buttons and ribbon. The tag is a Friendly Forest journaling tag.
