365 Card Challenge - Day 152 - July 30, 2009 - Peek-a-boo to You

So today's challenge is all about flaps. Create a fun flap somewhere on your card, perhaps revealing a sweet surprise underneath.

I finished this card last evening, but the internet was not working again, it is working this morning. For today’s challenge, I used dark purple and light purple card stock and cut it to make a 5 ½ inch square card. I used the paisley cuttlebug folder and the brads and ribbon are from my stash. The top of the card is stamped with the CTMH July Stamp of the Month, when the ribbon is un-tied the sentiment can be viewed. Thanks for looking at this card.

365 Card Challenge - July 29, 2009 - Day 151 - You Can Do It

Today's challenge is to use this sentiment on your card: "You can do it"

Do you remember the first time you tried to ride a bike? How many bruises, bumps and scrapes did you get? How many times did you say “I’m afraid” or “I’m not getting back on that bike”. Well, most of you overcame your fear, got back on the bike, and your dad or mom said “You Can Do It”. This is what I thought of for today’s card challenge. My card is very simple - I didn't take a lot of time (as you can see) since the internet has been giving me headaches, I wanted to finish the card quickly and get it posted while it was up. I used the Cricut Going Places cartridge to cut the bicycle and the traveling father and daughter (I cut the suitcases off) . I then printed the phrase “You Can Do It” from word onto velum placed them all onto a white card stock card base. I couldn't think of anything else to put on the card, so here is my card for today.

365 Card Challenge - July 28, 2009 - An "Eye" for an "I"

Today's challenge is called an "Eye" for an "I" because I want you to substitute one word that sounds like another, but has a different meaning - and use it in your sentiment. I believe they call this a homophone (I even Googled it!), and I've seen them used on stamps, rub-ons, and stickers, so there are lots to choose from. And when in doubt, computer-generated always works.

Sorry to be posting late for the challenges. The internet has been more down and not working than up and working. Here is my card, which is actually an invitation. I thought of the words Sunday / Sundae when this challenge was posted. Every Sunday after church my mother, daughter and I would eat lunch at the “Sundae Shop”. It was a small locally owned restaurant with home cooked meals. We would have anything from chicken and noodles, hotdogs, pizza and of course we would always have ice cream or a sundae. This small restaurant closed about a year ago because of road construction and we miss them.

For this card I printed the “C” “U” and “Sundae” on the Cricut using the Plantin SchoolBook cartridge and the sundae picture is clip art. I stamped the inside using the CTMH August Stamp of the Month (available from your consultant 8/1/09). The blue sheer ribbon is from my stash.

365 Card Challenge - Day 149 - July 27, 2009 - Try a Technique: Sponging

Today's challenge is all about Sponging. I don't care how you use it, just use the sponging technique on your card.

At last -- the internet is working --- I had the blog all ready to post and crash the internet went down. Hopefully, it will work long enough to get this posted. I ran this card through the cuttlebug argyle embossing folder. I then sponged white card stock with CTMH cream brulee ink pad and used the Martha Stewart border punch. I used American Crafts Orange Essentials Ribbon. I did not put a sentiment on this card as I will wait to see when I use it. Thanks for looking at this card.

365 Card Challenge - Day 148 - July 26, 2009 - Super Sketchy Sunday

For today's challenge, I used a beige card base and layered a floral paper from Kurio. I used turquoise paper and ribbons from my stash. The paper flowers are by American Crafts that I got from Big Lots. I used the cricut to cut the shape, the sentiment is a CTMH stamp. Thanks for looking at the card today.

365 Card Challenge - Day 144 - July 22, 2009 - You Raise Me Up

The Specific Challenge: Try to incorporate at least TWO ways to add dimension to your card.

I used medium blue card stock for the card base, cut a cream color card stock for the next layer, then ran dark blue card stock through the cuttlebug swiss dot folder. I layered two flowers by Darice and placed them on the card using a yellow brad from my stash.

365 Challenge - Day 147 - July 25, 2009 - Scraplife Saturday

The specific challenge: Select a card from one of the design team members to scraplift. It does not have to be a card that was done for a 365 Cards challenge, but you need to be sure to provide the card or link the card that you are scraplifting.

When I saw this card a couple months ago, I loved it. Here is a copy of Tammy Wark's card from May 19, 2009: Thanks Tammy for letting me show you my variation of your card.

The paper I used is from the DCWV Whimsy Stack. I could not find a ribbon that I liked for the card, so I did not put one on it, plus it would cover up the little animals on my card. The sentiment "Friends to the End" is a CTMH stamp.

I do not like my card as much as Tammy's, I think because I could not embellish it as much since I did not want to cover up the cute little animals.
