Kazan's Sketch 34 for the week of August 30, 2009

For this challenge, I used papers from my stash and embossed the light purple using the cuttlebug. I then cut the butterfly using the cricut cartridge "Tear Drop" and put Darcie rhinestones down the middle of the butterfly. I used DCWV adhesive ribbon to the right of the butterfly. I will place a sentiment on the card when I am ready to use it. Thanks for taking a look at my card for this week.

365 Card Challenge - Charmed - 9-5-2009

Today's challenge is as simple as it sounds: Add a charm to your card.

For this challenge, I used DCWV paper and ribbon from my stash. The charm is fromWal-Mart . I got this package of charms from Wal-Mart awhile back and keep wanting to put it on a card. Thanks for looking at this card today.

365 Card Challenge - Touchy Freely Friday -Day 1889

And the specific challenge is to use felt or flocking on your card. I don't know about you, but I always seem to have felt flowers or other felt embellishments in my stash, and I've always wanted to try flocking.

I decided on a thank you card for today's challenge. I cut Thank You using the "New Arrival" Cricut cartridge. I found some felt ribbon by Rob and Bob Studio there were four in the package and I used the double scalloped ribbon. The flower is by American Crafts and the brad in the middle of the flower is from my stash.

365 Card Challenge - Label It - Day 187

Today's challenge is to use a label on your card. Any kind will do - when in doubt, pull that one off the can of Campbell's Soup ;)

I saw a Nutrition Facts on some candy and then it clicked, use it for today's card challenge. I started looking for some paper with candy on it and found the Creative Memories' Primary Halloween Additions paper. I cut the pumpkins using the "Happily Ever After" Cricut Cartridge. The ribbon is American Crafts Elements (Orange Essentials). Thanks for looking today.

For today's challenge I found this paper in my stash and thought it was perfect for this ad. I cut the shoes and rose from the Cricut "Happily Ever After" cartridge and the word "love" is from the "Home Accents" cartridge.

365 Card Challenge - Day 185 - Feeling Blue - September 1, 2009
Yep - it's another color challenge, but I want to see THREE shades of blue on your card.


I actually used four shades of blue on this card. They do not show up as well on the picture as in real life. The ribbon is a deeper shade of blue than the scalloped oval. I used the cuttlebug to emboss the light blue card stock, then used a multi-punch by The Paper Studio "Lace" to cut the oval from a royal blue and the corner is a navy blue using the same punch. The ribbon, flower and brad are from my stash.

Like so many, I was saddened to hear of the passing of John Hughes, who directed some of my all-time favorite 80's movies. My absolute favorite of his is Pretty in Pink, which I still enjoy watching when I get the chance. And so that is today's movie, which is intended to inspire your card. Here is the card that I made for this challenge. I used pink papers, paper flower and a brad from my stash. I stamped one of the girls using the CTMH May Stamp of the Month "Be Yourself" on pink card stock. Thank you for taking a look at my card.
