365 Cards - It's a Matter of Inches

Have you heard of inchies? Well, I hadn't until recently, and I thought this would make a fun challenge. So, that's it, just make an inchie - either make it the card, or make one and put it on the card.
Here is the card that I made for today's challenge - it measures 4 1/2" x 3". I cut five one inch squares and used Studio G stamps for the snowflakes and Merry Christmas sentiment. The ink colors are CTMH Indian Corn Blue and CTMH cranberry. I found ribbon in the bin that I bought at JoAnn's a few years ago - it says Let it Snow. The paper is from a DCWV Winter Stack also from a few years ago.

Use at least 3 different items that are transparent to a degree - plastic, buttons, vellum - whatever you've got!

I used at least 3 transparent products on the card that I made for today's challenge. The tree is stamped using sweet leaf ink on vellum using the CTMH "Holiday Warmth" acrylix stamp set. I found ribbon (by Darcie) which is clear and looks like garland and placed it below each clear button, and the center of the yellow button is clear. I put clear rhinestones on the tree. The green card base, polka dot paper, button and rhinestones are from by stash.

365 Cards - Beautiful Bouquet

365 cards - day 243 - Beautiful Bouquet

Now I know many, if not all of you have put flowers on your cards, but I'm looking for more of a bouquet - you know a bunch of flowers grouped together.Large or small, patterned paper, stamps or fabric flowers, or any combinations of these will do just fine.

I once again used CTMH products to make this card. The flower wreath is CTMH creme brulee and the stamp set is "Dream Wishes", the bouquet inside the circle is using the CTMH "Aspiration" the stem is sweet leaf ink and the flowers heavenly blue ink, and the sentiment is "For Every Occasion" also stamped in heavenly blue.

Happy Birthday Card with a List

I started on this card a couple days ago, but finished it today. I would have had it posted much earlier, but the computer decided to take a little down time and not allow me to do anything on it, but it is now up and working again. I used CTMH dutch blue ink to stamp on the birthday cake using the CTMH It's Your Day acrylix stamp set. I used the fiskars border punch for each layer of the cake.

365 Cards - Day 240 - Pin-Up

Today's challenge is to use a stick pin or safety pin with beads and/or charm/s on your card.

A friend of ours will be having surgery on Thursday, so I decided to make a get well card for her. She likes the color red, so I found the paper in one of the stacks and thought it was perfect for her. The paper is from My Mind's Eye - Out & About, the pin is Making Memories - Chloe's Closet, the flower is Bazzill Collection - Itty Bitty Blossoms , the ribbon Martha Stewart and I cut the tag using the Cricut "Storybook" cartridge, and stamped the tag with CTMH products.

Fall Card using Twine

365 Cards - Day 238 - Fine Twine:

Can you guess what this challenge is all about? Maybe you've used thread or embroidery floss, but what about twine? I think I actually have some buried in my stash that I've never used! So now would be the time to pull it out.

After a rainy Friday, its a cool and windy fall day here in Southeast Ohio. The leaves are beautiful and the hill sides are so colorful.

For this challenge I made a 6x6 card -- using brads from my stash to put the light brown cardstock on the off white card base. I got out the CuttleBug to cut and emboss the leaves on this card and used Archival Brilliance Cosmic Copper ink to highlight the raised leaves. The twine that I used is by The Beadery Craft Products and put it through the holes on the brown button from my stash.

I used a white card base and stamped the purple paper using Archival Brillance Platium Planet ink and over that color I used CTMH tulip ink to make the image on the ornament, the string hanging from the top of the card and the swirl to the right. The stamp set used is the CTMH "Holiday Trinkets" acrylix stamp set. I also stamped the brown card stock with the platium ink. I used brads from my stash on the ornament.

365 Cards - Tuesday's Trio - Day 234 - October 21, 2009
This kind of challenge is fun because the trio on all the cards should be the same, but how you use them is remarkably different. So here's your trio: Pearl - Tag - Ribbon. There should be at least one of each of these on your card.

My card consists of a pink card base from my stash. The green and pink ribbon is by: Marcella; I put two pearls (by: Paper Studio) on the card, one is on the pink ribbon (from my stash) and the other is on the flower; the tag: by Classic K by K&Company. The word Hope is cut using the "Home Decor" Cricut cartridge.

365 Cards - Favorite Fabric - Day 233

Today's challenge is about finding inspiration right in your home. Specifically, I want you to find a piece of fabric in your home (it could be from a curtain, quilt, sweater, whatever you can find) that you love. Take a photo of it and share the fabric that inspired your card. And just so there's no confusion, I'm not asking you to put any fabric on your card, just use it for inspiration.

Here is the picture that I took in my home. It is a picture of one of our bathroom shower curtains. There were some other items that I considered, but decided on this because the colors would make a pretty card.

The card that I made is using paper from a DCWV Spring Stack. I used CTMH blush ink to stamp the sentiment using the CTMH "For Every Occasion" acrylix stamp set. The flower is using the stamp set from the CTMH Tickled Pink Spring promotion and cut it out to put in the middle of the card.

Snow Flake Holiday Card - October 18, 2009

Shape Up - 365 Card Challenge - day 230

The dominant shape for this challenge is a semi-circle. Put one big one or lots of little ones on your card - OR make it the shape of your card.

For this card, I saw a box with various Martha Stewart ribbon and decided that the purple ribbon would be pretty to put on a card. I used a light purple card stock for the card base, inked around the semi-circle with CTMH Petal Ink, stamped the sentiment using the CTMH "For Every Occasion" acrylix stamp set and the CTMH "Treasurers" acrylix stamp set for the flowers. Put the ribbon on the card.

365 cards - day 229 - Color Scheme

I just love the color scheme, so I thought it would make a great color scheme challenge.

I also love these colors together. I found two coordinating papers from the DCWV Spring Matstack for this challenge. The paper had every color except brown, so I used the Creative Memories pasley punch, and to place brown on the card. I also something to separate the two papers, so I cut a thin strip of seafoam paper.

The Specifics: Your challenge is to use at least 2 papers that have the same pattern but are different in color.

For this challenge, I used three colors (pink, green and purple) of the same pattern paper from my stash. I decided to use the Fiskars border punch on all three papers instead of just the purple paper. The pink ribbon is from my stash.

I was able to complete two card challenges with this card. The 365 Cards challenge is "In Motion" and I immediately thought of leaves blowing in the wind. I used Creative Memories paper with leaves blowing around on it. I used the Cricut Platin SchoolBook cartridge to cut the circle and placed leaves in the middle of the circle. I stamped and cut out the leaves using the CTMH "Many Thanks" acrylix stamp set and the sentiment is from the CTMH "Treasures" acrylix stamp set. The button is from my button box.

365 cards - day 225 - Super Sketchy Sunday

Here is the sketch we are to follow for today's challenge:

I started this card in my mind to use for a get well card using red papers, so I selected paper from a Foof-a-La paper stack, but then changed my mind to green when I found the green with gold edged ribbon in the ribbon bin. I stamped the swirls and flowers from the CTMH Delilghtful Things stamp set using CTMH tulip ink . I put liquid glass on the swirls to make them stand out a little and also put a little gold ink in the middle of the flowers.

365 cards - day 226 - So...

Today's challenge is all about the sentiment - you must have the word "so" somewhere on your card.

The card that I made for today's challenge using the word "so" is using papers and ribbon from my stash. I thought this would make a sweet baby card. I cut the words "So Sweet" using the Jasmine Cricut cartridge and the flowers are cut using the George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge. The flowers have a hole cut in the middle - I cut three different sizes and stacked them on each other and I put the ribbon through it and tied it to keep the flowers in place. I used a Fiskars border punch along the bottom of the light green paper.

365 Cards - day 224 - Two Techniques

I know many of you have already done a lot of layering on your cards, but now I want you to use it along with some fussy cutting to create a foreground/background image. Make sense? The idea is to use these techniques to create some perspective. If you often do this on your cards, you will be quite at ease with this challenge, but if not, then this is the time to give it a try.

I'm not sure if I did this challenge correctly. Here is the card that I made using two CTMH acrylix stamp sets: the tree is Grown with Love and the boy and girl on the bench is on the Childhood Portrait stamp set.

For this card is used papers from a DCWV Winter Mat Stack, the trees are stamped using the CTMH Holiday Trinkets acrylix stamp set in CTMH Juniper ink, and the ribbon is Offray ribbon sentiments that I found in the ribbon drawer.

I have a blue card base then used the following five items for my card.

(1) white card stock, (2) paper from a DCWV Winter Card Stack, (3) I used the Cricut Joys of the Season cartridge to cut the snowflake, (4) sparkle brad to hold the snowflake on the paper, and (5) sequins are from my stash.

365 Cards - Day 221 - Imagine This: Denim

I think this will be a fun one - think "Denim" for this card.

I used the DCWV Whimsy Stack for the background on this card, the owls are really cute. I used the fiskars border punch on both sides of the denim paper, brads and hemp cord are from my stash.

365 cards - day 220 - In Stitches

How do you feel about cross-stitching? Well, that's what I'm going to ask you to do. There doesn't have to be much, but if there are any cross-stitchers out there, we'd love to see what you can do on a card!

For this challenge I dug out the cross-stitching supplies and found a cross-stitch ornament kit by NeedleMagic. I cut the frame using the Tear Drop Cricut cartridge and put it around the cross-stitch using brads from my stash. The ribbon is also from my stash. The paper from the DCWV (2007) Christmas Stack.

365 cards - day 219 - In and Out

So what does that title mean?? It means I want you to try some weaving on your card. You can do the whole background, an image, whatever you wish, as long as there is weaving involved.

I cut 5/8 inch strips of wallpaper samples and weaved them to make this 5 x 5 card. You cannot tell from the picture, but these are pinkish shades - ginger and magnolia. I cut the border using the Storybook Cricut cartridge and put sequins on the corners. Thanks for looking today.

The papers are from the DCWV Summer Mat Stack, I cut the birthday candle with the cuttle bug and used Liquid Glass from CTMH on the flame to make it shine a little. I need to add something else to this card, maybe some sequins or ribbon - it just needs something else - suggestions are welcome.

Today's stamping challenge is to stamp a background pattern that is the same color as your card stock.

For today's challenge, I used a card stock from a Marcella Mat Stack - Lemon Drops and stamped the blue paper with CTMH Heavenly Blue ink using the CTMH "Dream Wishes" stamp set. The ribbon is American Drafts and I almost forgot I used the Fiskars punch.

I will stamp it with a sentiment when I am ready to use it.

Here are the specifics on today's challenge: Divide your card into 4 parts representing the 4 basic elements: water, fire, earth, and air.

I made this card using computer generated pictures to represent each of the four elements -- earth, fire, water and air. My mind went blank for this challenge and is not really what I wanted, but this is what I was able to make. If I think of something else between now and Saturday, I will have to make it.
